Michael Larkin

Attorney at Law, Owner

As an attorney with over 25 years of experience in real estate law and over 13 years in construction, I have now added a new phase to my life by leveraging my skills to support a new nonprofit organization committed to assisting the homeless.

My journey in real estate began with a focus on residential and commercial transactions, landlord/tenant law, zoning, and permitting. This led to me co-found a development company with my brother, where we oversaw the construction of over 49 single and multi-family homes, including affordable housing units. This role involved working closely with town departments to navigate permitting and approvals, managing project finances, and coordinating marketing and sales strategies.

My commitment to community development was galvanized during a recent project in Boston, where we identified an urgent need for transitional housing solutions. While working on this project, I engaged with nonprofit organizations exploring innovative uses for existing properties to support vulnerable populations. These interactions highlighted the challenges nonprofits face in securing funding and permits, ultimately leading me to recognize the importance of collaboration.

I believe that private-nonprofit partnerships are essential in creating effective solutions for homelessness. By joining forces, nonprofits can focus on their mission, while I take charge of securing, permitting, and managing the properties vital to their efforts.

As part of this nonprofit organization, I am excited to work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop innovative strategies that address homelessness and promote long-term stability for those we serve. My goal is to ensure that everyone has access to safe and affordable housing, fostering a brighter future for our communities.
